The Shore Line (fully revised for 2007) |
|||
Where it all began, today it is hard to appreciate the stir this kayak
generated when first launched in 1984.
Back in the 1980’s other sea kayak manufactures were dedicated to producing full-on expedition boats or concentrating their efforts on models more suited to the fledgling US touring market. In the rush for press headlines, of daring-do and bulging export order-books, the average coastal explorer had been forgotten. It genuinely seemed that no one had realised the demand for a real-world sea kayak for the home market. One that excelled at playing in and exploring our challenging coastal waters but with the speed and carrying capacity for the length of extended trip that most paddlers undertake. When launched the Shore Line was an instant success. Its blend of attributes, the balance between speed, stability, tracking and manoeuvrability hit a cord with many paddlers. Despite two decades of the industry playing catch-up the Shore Line remains the benchmark kayak in this class. If looking for a sprightly sea kayak in the 16ft (488cm) class the Shore Line is one to try before making any purchase decision. |
